Candy canes bright Christmas lights snow covered trees the smell of pine and cups of cheer That magical time of year when spirits are renewed and families come to together. This year marks the 14th Annual Santa Claus Parade for Minden and the surrounding areas Over the years this event has become the highlight of the Christmas season and we invite you to participate in this worthwhile initiative This year the Santa Clause Parade will take place on Saturday November 24th at 11:30 a m and the theme is A Tropical Christmas.

Scott Waters - Seldom Seen: Traces of a War
November 1-30 2012

 

Scott Waters is an artist with the Canadian Forces Artist Program (CFAP) "Seldom Seen - Traces of a War" is based on experiences of soldiers preparing for the early months of the Kandahar combat mission and, some six years later, soldiers deploying to the post-combat training mission. Seldom Seen grows from the specific experiences and considerations of one artist's perspective. We invite visitors to experience these selected works from the last five years during which Scott Waters was been a participant in the Canadian Forces Artists Program (CFAP).

 

 

 

ECHOES
November 3-30 2012

 

Lois Raw, Rose Pearson, Maija Stone, Elizabeth Turner, Terry Wright and Gail Nicholson present new works at Rails End this winter. The theme is ECHOES and the artists have worked together, and in response to one another for several months in preparation.

Festival of Trees
November 23-24 2012

 

The Minden Hills Festival of Trees is a magical event for the entire family, filled with wonderful things to see, interesting shops to visit and fun activities for children all with a Christmas theme. The Festival will be held at the Minden Hills Cultural Centre; Agnes Jamieson Gallery, R.D. Lawrence Place and the Minden Hills Museum and will feature beautifully decorated Christmas trees in different sizes along with wreaths, garlands, gift certificates and gift baskets all available by raffle. Raffle tickets are 8 for $5.00. All revenues generated will support public programs.
