Well, It’s the last day of “Movember” and it’s been a good run.  I’ve grown a healthy mustache and had a lot of fun raising some money for Prostate Cancer Canada.  It’ll be kind of sad to say goodbye to this new friend who’s made his home on my face this month – I’m sure my wife won’t mind.

Throughout this month I’ve been personally impacted by the number of young men I’ve come in contact with over the last month who have been affected by prostate cancer like my family was, but were not as lucky as my family was. My dad is a prostate cancer survivor and through the Movember network I’ve come across a number of young local men who have lost their dads to the disease over the last few years.  Today, I’m overwhelmed by how lucky I am and how it so easily could have turned out differently for my family.

1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer yet it is such a treatable disease when caught early – please do you and your family a favour a get checked regularly.  If a check-up is something you’re apprehensive about, I’ve done it and it’s really no big deal.
