Stupid Son-in-law
Excerpt from www.RUTLANDERS.ca - Rutland's Community Website
We just got back from a week of camping fun at Shuswap Provincial Park. It definitely our best family camping trip so far!

We had the great fortune of borrowing my parents-in-law's truck and trailer which was a big treat. My father-in-law is a long haul trucker and made sure to give me the crash course in trailer towing safety. This was the first time in my life that a had the remotest clue how to back up a trailer without using a the "15 times a charm" trial and error method. Needless to say, it didn't take long for Level-3 cockiness to set in, and a few minutes more for me to wrap the rear awning around a large yet sneaky birch tree.
"Great", I thought (with a few other one word exclaimations), this will give Big Al enough son-in-law ammunition to last him well into his golden years. And if that's not bad enough, what's it going to cost me to order a rear awning for a 15 year old trailer made in Indiana with a three tone blue mountain/ocean scene and the phrase "Sandpiper by Cobra" on it.
I took the mangled wreckage to Trailermaster on Rutland Road at Reids Corner, where my father-in-law services the trailer, to see it they could work some magic. After a slight chuckle, the helpful gentleman told me they could probably fix it and that I should leave it with him. I went back today expecting little and was surprised to find it is fixed as good as new. The bill was small which made our camping trip only a little over budget and my stupid yet responsible son-in-law reputation will remain intact for a little longer.
Thanks again dad! And thank you Trailermaster - it looks like we won't have to camp in a cave next year after all. www.rutlanders.ca
