The holiday season came to a close for me today as I un-decorated our Festival of Trees Christmas tree at the Fairmont Empress. This was the first year Century 21 Queenswood Realty was a participant and I would like to thank my colleagues Damian Kruz, Robert Young, Terry Stockus, Chris Markham & Suzanne Bowen for sponsoring along with me.
For many years I have enjoyed viewing the BC Children's Hospital Foundation Festival of Trees at the Fairmont Empress and marveled at the creativity displayed. This year with the help of some good friends I was able to try my hand at crafting a few unique decorations for our tree.
The first project was these lovely paper ornaments, thank you to Vanessa Wheeler for providing the idea and patiently cutting and gluing with me. A tutorial can be found here. I think they turned out quite lovely.
Next I purchased these glass globes at Michael's and with great effort was able to string our logo inside with a photo of a currently listed home on the back.
The tree topper was a fun project. I started by sketching designs on paper, when I was satisfied with the plan I traced it on to foam board. Once all the pieces were cut and glued together paint and glitter were applied. I learned a lot and although it is not exactly how I imagined I am happy with the result.
With the addition of lights, some ribbon, and a few extra decorations we have a fully decorated tree!
It was exciting to contribute to a worth cause and be a party of the festivities this year. I look forward to participate again next year.
