Sixteen Mile Sports Complex
3070 Neyagawa Boulevard (on Neyagawa Boulevard north of Dundas Street)
Sixteen Mile Sports Complex is a 196,000 square-foot quad pad arena with one olympic-sized ice surface with 1,500 seats, and three NHL-sized ice surfaces with 250 seats each. The facility includes a 150 seat restaurant, concession stands, two shooter pads, a pro shop and several multipurpose rooms.
The facility, scheduled to open to the public in Setember 2010, will be used for youth hockey, public skating, figure skating, tournaments and tournament head quarters, adult hockey leagues, speed skating and sledge hockey. While phase one is limited to the four ice surfaces and associated activities, a second phase, slated currently for 2018 will include a full-service community centre with pools, fitness centre, library and cultural space.

Watch some of the biggest names in hockey history including Claude Lemieux, Gary Roberts and Tom Fergus! Or, skate with these NHL hockey legends. Five spots are available to be won! Fill out a ballot at any Town of Oakville community centre, arena or Town Hall. Five additional spots are available for purchase at $2,010 per spot. Booking opens August 16 at 9 a.m. by calling 905-845-6601, ext. 3841. All proceeds for the team spots will support the Town of Oakville's RecConnect Fund which helps children in need participate in recreation programs.
The Town of Oakville is looking for volunteers to help out with the grand opening weekend. Volunteers will assist staff in a variety of areas including traffic control, parking, security, logistics, mascots, ushers and tour guides. Volunteers must be a minimum of 15 years. Earn volunteer hours for high school or just get involved in the community for this once in a lifetime grand opening event. Adult volunteers welcome. Free Shuttle Bus Transportation to Sixteen Mile Sports Complex
Parking is extremely limited. Avoid the frustration; take the special Oakville Transit shuttle buses to and from the facility and ride with ease. Shuttle buses will run every hour on the hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 18 and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 19 from the Town Hall parking lot located at 1225 Trafalgar Road.
Residents are encouraged to take the bus or ride their bike to Town Hall to catch the shuttle. Route 24 provides direct service to Town Hall, and Route 1 provides service on Trafalgar Road. All Oakville Transit buses are equipped with bike racks, and bicycle parking is available outside Town Hall and Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.
