The 61st Annual Rogers Conn Smythe Sports Celebrity Dinner & Auction was held on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Now in its 62nd year, Canada’s most successful and prestigious sports dinner has raised more than $6.8 million for youth and young adults with physical disabilities. Mike Bullard, was back for a fourth consecutive year as Master of Ceremonies and some of the sports world’s greatest athletes grace the stage for the star-studded, from hockey’s Ron Ellis and Denis Potvin; baseball favourite J.P. Arencibia; Brad Smith, wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills; Angelo Mosca; Anthony Calvillo and new Argos quarterback, Ricky Ray; MMA champion Mark Hominick; tennis “Newcomer of the Year” Milos Raonic and Bob Watson of the Toronto Rock.
Two new 2012 Provincial Easter Seals Ambassadors were introduced at last night’s event that also raised $304,000 from both a live and silent auction.
Natalie McDonald, a grade 7 student from Hanover On., plans on spending her year as Easter Seals Ambassador encouraging kids across the province to follow their dreams. Her advice to others is simple: “Anything is possible if you try hard enough.”
Brandon McAuley, also in grade 7, has a cheerful exuberance to share the Easter Seals’ message making him another excellent choice for the role of 2012 Easter Seals Ambassador. He's looking forward to meeting many new people, including other 
Easter Seals kids, supporters and celebrities.
