COUNCIL VOTES FOR BARWICK TO REPLACE COUNCIL SEAT

Cliff Barwick will be filling the vacant seat at City Council.

Council quickly voted last night to vote the former mayor back onto council as an alderman to fill the vacant seat left by Sam Yusuf who resigned last month to pursue other opportunities.

The motion was brought forward by Alderman Tom Johnston and was aproved by a vote of 4-3 by council.   Mayor Heather Jackson says she had discussions with Barwick when Yusuf resigned.

Jackson along with Alderman Gord Campbell, Tom Johnston and Dave Warden all voted in favour of letting Barwick back onto council.  Many in attendance and on our social media pages disapprove of councils decision stating that Linda Stevenson was next in line for that seat because she came eigth in voting during the last election.
