Over the past 3 years the bee population has dropped by an estimated 35% in Canada.  A number of factors have contributed to the dramatic decline.  One of them could be a pesticide used for corn and soybeans in Ontario.  The Provincial Government is looking at ways to combat the problem.

They have brought in beekeepers, farmers, scientists and other experts to talk about what's happening to our bees.  Paul Kozak with the Ministry of Agriculture says bees are cruical in agricultural areas llike Elgin becuase of the pollination they do.  He adds that this is a worldwide problem and scientists from across the globe are trying to find out why bees are disappearing.
