PORT STANLEY HERITAGE DISTRICT MEETING GATHERS SUPPORT

The second phase of Port Stanley's Heritage Conservation District has been put on display for the public to see.

This summer, a number of associations within the fishing village approached council with the idea t ocreate a heritage district in order to mainntain a harbour town feel.  With the first phase behind them, Central Elgin has now hired MHBC Planning to undr take the second phase, which includes coming up with plan and design guidelines.  Councilor Sally Marting explains what was discussed at the public meeting last week.

Martin added that the next step will be to set up small focus group meetings which will include acquiring public opinion from local businesses, residents and commercial harbour lands.
