The unemployment rate ison the rise again in the London-St.Thomas area, which can't be good news for our local economy.  The rate climbed to 9.9% in April compared to 9.6 back in March.

Elgin-Middlesex MP Joe Preston says they are planning on doing more work to get our area back on track with the rest of the country.

Preston added that he has more roundtables scheduled for this week along with the new intiiatives beginning such as the Canada Summer Jobs plan.  The local unemployment numbers of 9.9% is compared to national rate of 7.2% in April.  That number was unchanged in March.
