A Toronto man who was in Boston for yesterday's marathon says all hell broke loose when tow bombs exploded near the finish line. Paul Cloutier says it sounded like a large transformer explosion - shaking the ground and filling the area with white smoke. Tow people were killed and more than 130 were injured when the bombs detonated. Hospital officials say there have been several amputations and that many of the wounded have shrapnel-type wounds - more what you would expect from a battlefield. More than tow thousand Canadians took part in the race, but it's not known if any are among the dead and injured. One of those Canadians was St.Thomas native Brian Leverton.
A senior U.S. intelligence official says it's not clear what the motive was or who may have launched the attack
