On a national level, Statistics Canada says the economy lost about 400 jobs in June - a statisticly insignificant number that keeps the umemployment rate at 7.1 per cent.
StatsCan notes that for the first 6 months of this year, job creation has averaged a modest 14-thousand per month - or about half the pace of the last half of 2012.
