Preparing your home for sale can be quite overwhelming. It is always important to show your homes best side when potential buyers are coming through.
- Make sure any home renovation projects are completed before letting buyers have a look. Ie. All trim is in place and all painting has been done.
-Declutter. Try your best to have everything in its place and unnecessary household items out of sight. This helps ensure that your home shows as bright and spacious as possible.
-Clean Windows. If you know someone is coming to look at your home open the blinds as well, this lets in as much natural light as possible and helps showcase the rooms in your home.
-Fresh Air. If the weather permits, crack a window to allow fresh clean air to circulate your home. If outdoor temperatures are too cold, invest in a small air freshener to ensure a fresh smell to your home.
-Front Door. Double check that your front door/entry area is wiped clean. Remove any debris or clutter from your front yard. The front door/yard is the first thing potential buyers will see when they pull up to your home...and we all know that first impressions are lasting impressions!
-Pictures and Paperwork. If your home isn't listed in the peak blooming season, leave a few pictures of your beautifully landscaped yard on your kitchen table, as well as any paperwork pertaining to your home that may interest the buyers. Ie. A current electrical bill. This takes alot of the guess work away for the buyer, and may help them feel more comfortable about purchasing your home.
