You may have heard of Helen Harder but aside from the fact that she’s a realtor what do you really know? Check out this blog to learn more about her and her everyday life.
#1. What is your favorite quote?
If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.
#2. If you had to work on only one project for a whole year what would it be?
I would love to buy an older house and renovate it. Flipping a house from something outdated into something beautiful and unexpected would be a great yearlong project.
#3. What is one of the hardest things you have had to do?
Becoming a realtor was a lifelong goal of mine. Believing I could do it was a hard first step and then working my way through the courses was difficult but it has been so rewarding.
#4. What is the best part of your job?
I absolutely love helping people. I know that being a realtor doesn’t seem like the normal kind of job to help people but it is. I get clients who never think they’ll be able to buy a house and with a little work from a mortgage broker and myself they see their dream turned into a reality. Or when a client is ready to move on from their current home and upsize to start a family or switch careers. I want to be that person who walks beside them and hopefully alleviates some stress as they say goodbye to a place that they called home.
#5. When you have an evening off what are you often found doing?
To be completely honest I love the real estate industry so I do quite a bit of work related stuff. I am online searching for new properties that were listed and if I know of anyone who would be interested in that place. I am scheming how a house could be transformed from its current state and of course I also love home décor so I am always looking for new ideas online.
#6. What do you like the most about Grande Prairie?
Grande Prairie is a city of opportunity. Work wise there are so many job opportunities and different industries to pursue. My favorite thing would have to be the people though. I have some family around here, which I love, but also the people I have met over the years are truly incredible.
#7. What is your favorite room in your house?
I love the living room. Stylistically it’s been great to work on it over the years to make it how I always envisioned. Aside from that it’s also a great room for having people over for coffee and just sitting and chatting.
#8. What TV show do you faithfully watch?
This is tough because there are a few I really enjoy but either “Million Dollar Listings” or “Love it List It”, yes they are real estate shows. What can I say? I love what I do.
#9. What is something that makes you nervous?Listing presentations. I love the chance to meet with potential clients and I do my research and comparative market analyses but something about them still gets me a little anxious beforehand.
#10. What are your goals for this upcoming year?
I want to focus on marketing more and getting my name out there. So many people either do not know me or do not know I am a realtor; I want to change that. I also want to continue to work at giving my clients the best experience that I possibly can, if they are not happy with my services I need to figure out why and change it.
