Support The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer™
I am a biker. No, not a road biker -- but a motorcycle biker (in fact, I have never ridden a road bike in my life). But when a very dear friend of mine, by the name of Phil Kohls, told me he had cancer, I just said 'enough already' and decided to commit to this ride so that he can help support me to get through it. You see, Phil is an avid biker, and I'm doing it for him -- to raise money for cancer research. Damn this horrible disease. So, with the help of getting a bike (thanks to Squire John's) I will start training to complete this ride. I may be at the back of the pack and the last to arrive but I will get there.
I am riding for those who have cancer, those who have had cancer and my grandchildren who do not have cancer (and hopefully never will) have cancer. Let's hope there is a cure sooner than later, so they will never get cancer. With your generosity I will be riding for the Cure to raise money benefiting Princess Margaret Cancer centre. This is going to be a big challenge for me, and I hope I succeed in my money raising goals and an impact will be made. I will keep you posted how I progress over the next few months as I progress towards the end goal to complete the ride and raise the money. Did I mention it is a 200 klm ride! It happens June 13 & 14, 2015
