6 Great Paint Colors That Work In Any Home

6 Great Paint Colors That Work In Any Home

Happy New Year to all my family, friends and clients, new and old.  Now that the New Year is upon us it’s time to think about the spring market.  If you are thinking about moving or just doing a minor upgrade to your home, painting is still one of the cheapest and easiest ways to give your home a new look and feel.  Even though Benjamin Moore picked Simply White as their top color trend for 2016 but if you find white too boring, there are still some top no-fail paint colors that can fit in your home no matter what your style.

Great for color commitment-phobes is the Benjamin Moore paint color Manchester Tan. Color expert Sharon Grech says that this neutral is almost like an off-white.  It is not gray or cold and it’s not a boring beige.  So it’s great for anyone that is scared of real colour.  Try it in the kitchen.

Blue is a crowd pleaser so a great blue is Cloisonne Blue by Behr Premium Paint.  This soft blue has slight hints of gray, which lends sophisticated appeal.  It especially works for small spaces.

Gray is timeless, but can often skew too “cold”.  That’s why Rockport Gray by Benjamin Moore is considered to have warmer undertones which can create a cozier feeling.  It also makes a great backdrop for art or framed photographs.  Try this favourite color in living rooms and kitchens.

Sea Salt, by Sherwin Williams is considered to be a great calming color.  Sage green colors are perennially popular because they work like a neutral while still adding a little color to a space.  They also come across as soothing.  This particular shade has a touch more “green” without going muddy.  Try it in bedrooms, home offices, dining rooms and kitchens.

August Morning, by Benjamin Moore is considered to be flattering for all skin tones and hence would be great in a small bathroom.

Finally, a great “dramatic” color is Tea Chest by Sherwin Williams.  This deep chocolate brown is an unsung hero of the paint world.  It can go in pretty much any room, gorgeously sets off textures (woods, textiles, etc.) and yet is unobtrusive.  A great choice for dining, living rooms and bedrooms.

These hues might be more on the “safe” side but they are a great step to more colorful living.  Happy Painting.
