Join The Bradford Board of Trade?
The Bradford Board of Trade will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June 2014, whereby we will be reviewing our accomplishments over the past year and discussing our goals for the coming year.
We have several board positions available. Our board members serve for two years and can be re-elected. The terms are staggered so that we have both board members with experience, as well as those with fresh ideas.
If you wish to make a difference in your community, we hope you will consider becoming a board member of the Board of Trade. We need talented, dynamic leaders to help us continue to be “The voice of business” in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
Directors’ responsibilities include participation in as many Board activities as possible and promotion of the Board in a positive way throughout the community. The Board is ultimately responsible for establishing all policies on behalf of the membership. Directors are expected to assume from time to time the responsibility of:
- Being involved on a committee (membership, events, marketing, etc.)
- Mandatory monthly Board of Director meetings
- Accepting other assignments from the Board as required
If you wish to be considered for a board position, you need to be the voting member of a Company in the Bradford Board of Trade, your membership must be current, and you must meet the eligibility requirements set out in the By-laws. You must be nominated by any two (2) voting members of the Bradford Board of Trade and their nominations can be sent via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by mail to PO Box 1713, Bradford, Ontario, L3Z 2B9. Nominations must be received by Friday May 2nd at 5:00 pm.
The Secretary will contact all nominees after May 2nd for them to acknowledge and accept their nomination by submitting a nomination form. A silent vote will take place at the AGM
