Customer Service in Real Estate Sales by Gitta Levi, Broker, Century 21 Heritage Group Ltd

I've been a Real Estate Broker in the GTA for over 24 years. In these many years of sales, I've learned one important thing--good service counts! It's true of any "sales oriented" profession. If you make your clients' needs and wants your main priority, the good that comes from it will nourish your career for many years to come. It doesn't matter if your client is buying a starter townhouse, upgrading to their luxury home, or downsizing or retiring to a condominium apartment, they all want the same thing from their Realtor--honest advice and counselling, and knowledge of the GTA real estate market, no matter what area of the city or suburb they live in. Gone are the days that an agent must only know the few streets that they "farm" or work in exclusively.  With the advanced technology that the real estate industry offers its sales people, the capability of researching and analyzing trends and pricing in many different areas of the GTA, including North York, Thornhill, Richmond Hill and Newmarket, should not be a problem for an experienced Real Estate Broker.

Along with analytical skills, customers want their Real Estate Broker to have the negotiation skills to get them want they want and need.  Commissions paid are for services rendered, the two most important of which are marketing and negotiation!  When selling your home, townhouse or condominium, you want your Real Estate Agent to market your property for maximum exposure, and negotiate on your behalf for maximum selling price. When buying your luxury home, first-time buyer property, or retirement lifestyle home, you need their expertise in meeting your financial needs.  In either situation, experience and good performance count.
