Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension Construction
The TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) released today that there will be road restrictions on Finch Avenue West at Keele Street commencing tomorrow June 5, 2013. The road will be reduced to one lane per travelling direction as they are working on making repairs to the traffic deck. The roadwork is expected to start early morning at 6:00AM tomorrow June 5, 2013 and run through to June 7, 2013 at 9:00 PM.
The four lanes of this intersection are expected to reopen on the evening of June 7, 2013.
To accommodate this roadwork pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to use the sidewalk and pedestrian ramps on the north side of Finch Avenue West for the duration of this road improvement.
The lane restrictions and construction Finch Avenue West will continue to be modified to accommodate subway construction over the next three years. Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are expected to use extra care, caution and reduced speeds while travelling through these areas. Commuters can expect that traffic movement will be reduced to ensure public safety and allow access for all construction vehicles from both the North and South Sides of Finch Avenue West. This is while Eastbound and Westbound traffic, and transit riders may experience some delays.
Paid duty officers will be on Finch Avenue West at Keele Street directing traffic during the lane restrictions.
