Buck Lake Recreation Possibilities...

Buck Lake is a real gem of a lake,  located within easy driving distance of Edmonton, Calgary and Red Deer.  The landscape surrounding this lovely fishermens' getaway is slightly rolling, with abundant woodlands rising up from the shoreline.  A mix of spruce and pine, balsam poplar and aspen are found here.  If your partner wants to fish, you can always check out the woodlands for berries or mushrooms.

Fishing you ask?  We have walleye, jack (Northern pike), whitefish, perch and burbot for year round sport.

Kayaking and canoing under the bridge in town allow you to gently float into Rat Lake where hundreds of water birds make their nests. Rat Lake is too shallow for motorboats, so sneak off here for peace and quiet...

If you prefer a little more speed, you can always bring your motorized craft & the water skis....

Campgrounds can be found in town (Buck Lake Park), where there is a nice swimming area, playgrounds and showers, on Buck Lake's north shore off Twp Rd 470 (Buck Lake Provincial Rec. Area) and on Buck Lake's east shore at Calhoun Bay Rec. Area.
