Well Labour Day has passed, which some call the last weekend of the summer (I still like to think it is closer to the third week of September) and the weather is not showing many signs of cooling down, other than some evenings and early signs of autumn with leaves changing colour. With 196 school days in the 2016-2017 school year in Ontario Elementary and Secondary schools most parents are absolutely loving that the kids are back in school and maybe even missing the time they have spent over the summer holidays. Some parents are nervous as it is their child's very first time stepping into the school system and others have chosen a different approach with homeschooling where they have the flexibility of still spending days with the little ones.
Whichever end of the spectrum you sit, the first day is over and you can breathe a sigh of relief as your child settles in to the next chapter of their lives with fall right around the corner, swim trunks being put away soon and the wind breakers and hoodys coming out. Whoever you are and however you live, just remember to give thanks for all of the blessings which surround you and yours. Wishing your children a safe return to school with the confidence to walk tall and just be themselves.
