Originally settled by John Fall Allison in 1859, Princeton has become the center of the Similkameen Valley. Rich in mining, forestry, agriculture and ranching providing the foundation for the town's economy. Tourism has been recently gaining popularity because of the area's proximity to nearby cities like Kelowna and Vancouver.
