Ontario Amends Green Energy Act

A backlash from consumers and other organizations in Ontario over a plan which would require an energy audit every time a home is sold has been removed from the proposed legislation. The energy audits will no longer be mandatory.

The amended Green Energy Act is currently making its way through the legislature.

Buyers can still negotiate with Sellers to have an Energy Audit completed in the same way they negotiate a Home Inspection.

This alleviates the mandatory financial strain on seniors.
