Fire/Carbon Monoxide Alarms Being Recalled

If you replaced a fire/carbon monoxide detector in your home in the spring take special warning. The Ajax fire department is issuing a warning for a recall by Health Canada and Kidde on Kidde brand models KN-COSM-IBACA, i12010S-CO-CA and i12010S-CA.

Model KN-COSM-IBACA was sold between Jan. 2 and May 13, 2014. Models i12010S-CO-CA and i12010SCA were sold between April 17 and May 13, 2014.

Spring and Fall are the usual times to check and replace out-dated fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in your home along with checking batteries on the units.

If you replaced the units in your home this past spring it is important that you check them to ensure they are not replaced with on of the recalled units.

It is important if you find you do have one of the recalled units to contact Kidde Canada toll-free at 1-888-784-2323 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday regarding a free replacement.
