Houses are flying off the market in Prince Albert. According to Kevin Wouters, branch manager of CENTURY 21 Conexus Realty and president of the Prince Albert and Area Association of REALTORS®, if a house is sitting on the market for more than six months, price is probably the issue. “People hear the market is hot and set the price instead of letting the agent set the price,” he says.
While prices haven’t gone down in years, Prince Albert is still well below the national average, making the area very attractive to potential buyers. “We are pretty under-priced compared to other major centers,” states Wouters, “and one big boom would definitely cause a housing shortage in the Prince Albert market.”
Last month, housing sales in Prince Albert were down slightly by three per cent while production was up 16 per cent. Listings and prices are also up when compared to the same time last year.
