Canadian Housing outperforms

I read a blog by Diane Francis of The Financial Post which sums up the key elements that have contributed to the Canadian real estate market and in particular, Vancouver and Toronto markets, performing so well. The key difference between Toronto and Vancouver as I see it is land. Toronto started to really embrace condos only a short time ago and has seen many redevelopments in the downtown core in just the last few years. Toronto has vast amounts of prime land that can be redeveloped in the downtown core. On the other hand Vancouver's downtown area is limited, and in some areas developments have peaked with no new building possible.
