What a wonderful quote to inspire us all to join in on Earth Day activities and celebrations all over Vancouver. The official date is April 22nd, but look for many things to actually take place on the next day, Saturday, April 23rd. Vancouver's Earth Day 2011website is full of information and activities. Especially check out the great list of eco-friendly cleaning alternatives and gardening tips; just click on the photo icons at the top of the web page. Everett Crowley Park (see map below) will be holding events including the planting of 1,000 native trees. Get your hands dirty for a good cause!
The Wilderness Committee of Vancouver has organized an Earth Day Parade for April 22nd, from 11am till 4 pm. It will start at the Broadway Skytrain Station and parade along Commercial Drive to Britannia Field where there will be a festival celebration. There will be hands on activities, a family tent, live music and special guest speakers.
At the Telus World of Science, also known as Science World, is hosting a Green Week, from April 16th till the 25th. Lots of fun and educational activities for the whole family.
Earth Day at Jericho Park is being celebrated this Saturday, April 16th. Sponsored by Evergreen, it will be going on from 11 am till 4 pm. You can help plant trees and restore the native eco-system.
