New Westminster is revising its approach to obtaining contributions from new urban development toward the infrastructure and amenities needed to support a growing population. This work includes developing a density bonus zoning system to allow higher density development in exchange for community amenities. The City will be implementing the first phase of this initiative, which includes introducing four new zoning schedules for all eligible townhouse and low rise apartment zones.
