It's official.  British Columbia will prohibit the use of hand held cellphones while driving as of January 1, 2010.  B.C. will join six other provinces that have similar legislation in place.  Drivers caught after February 1, 2010 using a cell phone for talking, texting, or emailing while operating a motor vehicle will be issued a ticket for $167.00 plus three demerit points.  As well, this applies to using devices such as mp3 players, portable games, and GPS instruments while driving.
