Rivermania in Ladner Celebrates B.C.'s 150th Anniversary!!

Yes! More joy from Ladner, is it possible? This weekend, activities galore are to be found in Delta celebrating the mighty Fraser River, our 150th anniversary, and Simon Fraser's epic journey. Friday begins the activities with a learning situation for grade five students and Saturday is absolutely non-stop! Pancakes for free begin on Deas Island followed by the launching of the Tsawwassen spirit boat, then it's on to Ladner harbour for welcoming activities, bands, and an afternoon of street performances plus buggy rides, face painting, a chowder cook-off, and good ol' rock and roll by The Greynotes and The Time Machine going strong until 10:00 pm. The last Farmer's Market is being held on Saturday night this year to add to the fun. Need dancing? The Ladner Legion (Branch 61) is holding its regular Saturday night foot stomp with a great band called "Justus", playing their usual great selection of pop and rock. So, indeed, come out to Ladner, enjoy the entire day and evening. Find out what a great community this is. And, if you feel so inspired, talk to me about living here.
