The local gem known as East Vancouver's Trout Lake Farmers Market is almost done for the year! Only 2 more weekends remain with the last day being Saturday October 19th, 2013.
The Trout Lake Farmers Market has a large variety of vendors so you are sure to find something you like. They sell everything from Organic Produce, Artisan Breads, Cheese Products, Gluten Free Foods, Preserves, Sweets, Honey, Jewelry, Coffee, Herbs, Aromatherapy Products, to free range Lamb, Chicken and Turkey sausages. My personal favorites are the Blue Smoke BBQ, the Chili Tank (perfect for a cold & wet Vancouver Fall day!) and the Langley Organic Growers (A group of local farmers working together to bring fresh, "certified organic" poultry, nuts, eggs, berries and fresh vegetables to farmers markets).
Another unique attribute of this market is that they provide a free & safe bicycle valet service so that you don't have to worry about "losing" your 2 wheeled beauty. There is also always a variety of music buskers playing throughout the day to make your experience at the market more enjoyable.
The market is family, children, and pet friendly so grab the little munchkins, put Fido on a leash and head out to the Trout Lake Farmers Market on Saturday October 12th or the 19th before it is done for the year!
The market is open from 9-2pm and is located at north parking lot of John Henry Park between Templeton and Lakewood south of the 13th avenue alley. Here is a map to better help you find it:
