Canada's biggest community run takes place this Sunday, April 17 at 9 a.m.
The Vancouver Sun Run is the 2nd largest timed 10K in the world. 51,419 Sun Runners celebrated the 26th year of the event in 2010. The 10k event leads participants along the beautiful downtown sea wall, across the Burrard Street bridge and back downtown over the Cambie Street bridge. Race starts at 9am at Georgia and Thurlow Street. If you're a runner, it's not too late to register.
If you are interested in watching the participants run by, there are lots of great vantage points along the route. We recommend that you transit, walk or cycle into the downtown area, because many roads will be closed and road traffic will be crawling. If not, check back here next week; we'll post our best photos of the event.
