What's the best thing about living in the West End? Could it be That no matter where you are you're close to the beach? Could it be that your backyard is the worlds largest park (Stanley Park) in an urban setting? Could it be the mature trees that line every street? Or maybe it's the United Nations of Restaurants along Denman, Davie, and Robson Streets?
Situated on the peninsula that's bordered by English Bay, Stanley Park, and Coal Harbour, the West End is Vancouver's jewel. Every year we have more parades and festivals than any other part of Vancouver. Celebrating diversity with the Pride Parade, and lighting up the night with the Symphony of Fire are but two of the ways we invite the world into our home.
I'm proud to say I've made the West End my home for 27 years, and counting. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Everything is walking distance. Need a late night bite? How about "Hamburger Mary's", "Knight and Day", or "Denny's". Need to rent a bike, car, or clown? Done. How about kayak lessons? No? Maybe Yoga or Pilates? We're a very healthy bunch here, and have more gyms than you can shake a "ThighMaster" at.
We have every age, family dynamic, convenience, and service you could possibly imagine. And some you can't!
West Enders pride themselves on their tolerance, and friendliness. Ours is a real community. We know our neighbours, and like a real family, accept them for who they are.
So, if you'd like to be able to walk to work, bike and rollerblade the SeaWall, hike in the park, dine in one of 100 restaurants, shop on world famous Robson Street, send your children to our day cares, preschool, elementary or high school, volunteer some time at our hospital, visit our art gallery, go to a movie, go dancing, go for a swim, take a harbour cruise, check out "Theatre under the Stars", or check out a book from our Public Library. The diversions and delights are endless. Come to Vancouver and make the best end, the West End, your home.
