With predictions that the real estate market is likely to soften through 2011, impacting mostly the condo market, the Vancouver market is not showing signs of this happening.
Comments abound that the condo market is over supplied, that housing affordability is threatened by a rise in interest rates and mortgage lending restrictions - this should impact particularly the first time home buyer segment who really favors the condo market.
With all this concern about the softening in the condo market - it might be happening in the rest of the country - but it does not seem to be happening in Vancouver.
The spring market is here - in fact activity started to pick up in January - and there are no signs that things will change any time soon.
