We had quite a good turn out of adults and children armed with garbage bags and gloves, dressed for a chilly wind, who did their part on Earth Day by trying to clean up the garbage around our Bronte Creek community. Thank you to all for showing such dedication! For those who missed or couldn’t attend due to circumstances, please take note that you will have an opportunity to clean up your community and meet some neighbours next year. We plan to make this an annual event!
We collected quite a bit of garbage around the community. The garbage items included beer bottles, scraps of plastic paper, cigarette butts ( a lot of them!), tetra packs, styrofoam, pieces of wood, plastic pipes and someone even removed a part of a discarded wire fence from around one of the play areas. The effort made a noticeable difference. Kudos to all!
Photos of the day can be found here. Following is a photo of the group. We were joined by some more neighbours and children as the afternoon progressed.
