Today proclaimed as the Day of the REALTOR® by Premier Stephen McNeil
NSAR is thrilled to announce that today in Halifax, Premier Stephen McNeil recognized the contributions of REALTORS® to the provincial economy by declaring June 8, 2016 the Day of the REALTOR® in Nova Scotia.
Do you know how much real estate transactions in Nova Scotia impact the economy? It’s more than most people know! In 2015 real estate transactions through the MLS® System contributed an estimated $310 million in spin-off benefits to the economy of the province. They also produced an estimated 2,800 direct and indirect jobs in Nova Scotia. That has a huge impact on our economy and the lives of people in our communities. You, REALTORS®, have a huge impact on our province.
Full Proclamation text:
Whereas REALTORS® are dedicated to providing Nova Scotains with the knowledge and guidance needed when buying or selling a home; and
Whereas REALTORS® contribute to building our communities through donating thousands of hours of time to dozens of different charities in our province each year; and
Whereas real estate transactions through the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS’® MLS® System continue to contribute to the economy of the province through spin-off benefits;
Therefore I, Stephen McNeil, Premier of Nova Scotia, do hereby proclaim June 8th, 2016 to be the “Day of the REALTOR®” in the Province of Nova Scotia.
