July 18 - August 1 | A Taste of Burlington Summer @ Downtown Burlington

August 1 | Art in the Park @ Coronation Park
This event was first held in 1965, and has since become an annual outdoor art show and sale usually held on Civic Holiday Monday in every August. Art in the Park was originally held in coronation Park where Oakville Art Society had its first home, since 1996 the show has been held in Waterfront Heritage Park located in the Bronte Harbour area. This show boasts only original work with emphasis being placed on painting, pottery, sculpture, woodworking, photography and artists are chosen for their originality and command of their chosen medium. August 1 | Emancipation Day Picnic @ St. George's Squares (Trafalgar & Sumner)

August 1 | Joseph Brant Day Festival @ La Salle Park
Joseph Brant Day is a full day heritage festival presented by Joseph Brant Museum that celebrates history and one of Burlington’s original settlers and national figures: Joseph Brant Thayendanegea. The festival includes activities for all ages, live music and unique performances, special historic re-enactments and demonstrations, various exhibitors and displays, interactive activities and games, artisans, crafters and other attractions. Joseph Brant day is not only an important heritage festival; it is also the largest summer event and fundraiser for the Museums of Burlington. August 5 - 7 | Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival
Largely considered one of the leading jazz festivals in the Greater Toronto Area, the Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival enters into its' 19th year this August 3rd -7th, 2011 and the Downtown Oakville BIA Jazz Committee was ecstatic to hear from Kevin Flynn, MPP that the Downtown Oakville BIA will be receiving $75,000 in funding through the Celebrate Ontario 2011 program.
