After years of planning and construction, the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC) is having its grand opening on March 24, 2012. This unique multi-purpose recreastion, arts and culture facility has been under renovation since 2009. It has utilized 90% of the original structure of Q.E.P. High School, and had a redevelopment cost of $27 million.
The facility features over 144,000 square feet of activity space, making it one of Canada's largest facilities of its kind. The facility boasts an aquatics centre, two gymnasia, a youth centre, an older adult centre, dance studios, a recording studio, fine arts studios, a rehearsal hall, black box theatre, gallery, museum space, and much more!
