Professional Background

I began my real estate career in 1991 and have managed five different real estate offices, both independent and franchise-affilated, in the South Okanagan - Similkameen, Kelowna, South Surrey - Whiterock and on Vancouver Island, and in communities ranging from small Villages and unincorporated areas to urban centres. As a result, I have gained experience in all aspects of real estate - residential, agricultural, recreational, small developments, commercial and property management. I have a background in administration and the financial industry including financial counselling.

Commercial properties encompass a wide range of investments, from leasing commercial space to selling a business, agricultural and development properties, to property The Commercial Division of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board is restricted to those member REALTORS® who quality by way of experience and numbers of commercial transactions or education. I am the only member of the VIREB Commercial Division in Campbell River and the North Island. I grew up in Vancouver, but have spent my adult life in BC communities with populations of 400 to 5,000 and 30,000 to 100,000. I enjoy assisting buyers to get out of the city and discover the beauty of living on Vancouver Island.

Education

In addition to real estate credentials as a salesperson and managing broker, I fulfilled a life-long goal by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics as a mature student at what is now the University of British Columbia - Okanagan. I also have a post-graduate degree in Public Sector Management from the University of Victoria.

Personal Background

I love British Columbia and believe it is truly the most beautiful place on earth. I grew up in Vancouver, raised my family in the South Okanagan - Similkameen, and now live on beautiful Vancouver Island. Vancouver Island is truly spectacular - miles of oceanfront, fabulous scenery, and friendly people and communities. I love to recount the story of my first winter on the Island. On December 24, I took my motorcycle out for a ride, toured by Point Holmes, past a couple of local golf courses where golfers were out on the greens, while my son was snowboarding on Mount Washington!

Personal Interests

One of the best ways to see BC is by motorcycle! You might meet me on the road, saddlebags loaded, heading out to explore a new section of Vancouver Island and points beyond!

Community Involvement

I have participated in very diverse ways in the communities in which I have lived. I was chair of Parent Advisory Councils, and then privileged to be a School Trustee for six years. I was involved in the organic farming industry as co-owner of an organic farm and fruitstand. I was on the executive of a housing society which obtained funding and constructed a 54 unit multi-family mixed income co-operative. My volunteer work includes working with residents of a half-way house for federal parolees to serving on a credit union community funding awards committee and organizing community events, functions and pot luck dinners. Recently, my husband and I became volunteers for the Beaver Lodge Forest Lands. Our company regularly donates to local charities and community organizations.
