Planning a GARAGE SALE!

Spring cleaning this year?.... remove the clutter from your storage areas!

"One mans junk another mans treasure!"

Chances are you have a lot of items that you haven't used for a year or more.

These items may be what your neighbors and friends could use. Garage sales are a popular way to eliminate clutter. Some neighborhoods put on garage sales every year as a community.

Decide the best time and day for you to have your GS and run an ad. Saturdays seem to be the best day for a garage sale.

Make lots of posters directing traffic to your home. You can put up your signs a couple of days ahead and use colorful poster board with black letters.

Create an inventory sheet of items to put in the sale. Are they in good shape, clean and in good working order?  Electronics and appliances should have any cords attached.

Price your items fairly and remember shoppers are expecting bargains.

Recruit friends, family, and neighbors to sell with you to create more interest from the street. Bigger garage sales attract more people.

On the morning of the sale give yourself plenty of time to set up. Serious garage sale shoppers are up early and often arrive minutes before your set time to get the best deals. Be prepared.

It can be a fun experience! :)

It's a good life!
