The Rouge Woods Neighborhood in Richmond Hill, Ontario

THE ROUGE WOODS NEIGHBORHOOD

The Rouge Woods neighborhoood is one of the most sought after neighborhoods for families of all sizes in Richmond Hill.  Majority of the properties in this neighborhood are relatively new 2- car garage detached homes built around year 2000. You will find more affordable townhouses with detached garage on Shirley Dr, Oceanview St and Forestwood Dr. Townhouses and Semi’s with attached garage are found on Peninsula Cr, Amulet Cr, and at the Southwest corner of Elgin Mills and Leslie. Most houses on Amulet Cr and the Southwest corner of Elgin Mills and Leslie are less than 5 years, some are even brand new. I do not recall seeing any single-car garage detached home in this neighborhood. There are a few 3-car garage mansions found mostly on quiet cul-de-sac ravine lots.  If you are looking for newer bungalows in recently developed subdivision, try you luck in this neighborhood as there might be one of those for sale around Toporowski Ave. For big families, there are a number of 3-storey, 5-bedroom houses along Frank Endean Rd.

My overall impression: this is a serene neighborhood with close proximity to highway 404. Even though almost all houses are built with brick siding, there is a wide array of styles for every taste. Most houses are very well kept and lots of them have very nice curb appeal with professional landscaping and interlock or stone pathways. The streets on southern part of this neighborhood are lined with more mature trees. I am amazed at the numbers of owners who invested in the more expensive wrought iron fences and glass railing on patio decks. In one sentence: this is a perfect neighborhood in Richmond Hill to raise a family!
