All I can say is congratulations to the BIA and all of the people involved and responsible for such a fantastic Midnight Madness event!! Just for transparency, I am not associated with the BIA or any aspect of Midnight Madness.
I have been around a while and have seen all kinds of events aimed at drawing people out of their homes and into the downtown core. Midnight Madness was a well orgainzed, well orchestrated, and well attended event.
When I first went down to see what was going on I immediately recognized that this was going to be a little different than I had expected. Downtown events tend to be more about selling racks of out of season items than they are designed to allow people to relax and unwind. This was not the case for Oakville.
From bands, to vendors, from bouncy castles to dancers, there was an enourmous number of items to please any age. The timing was excellent from 6-12 allowing people to get home, get there, and unwind. So much planning and effort went into this event and it was obvious from the talent and coordination.
After I saw what was about to transpire, I went back home to get my FlyBuy Drone. It was great fun going around the downtown area from high above right down to the street level to observe all of the action in real time. People from all over were interested in FlyBuy drone and what it could do.
So, to recognize the hard work and dedication of the BIA and all participants, there is a short video of Midnight Madness in Oakville.
Feel free to leave comments. Get ready for next year Midnight Madness!
