Bad weather has forced the closure of many highways in Southern British Columbia
Yikes! I sure hope those that must travel take it easy and reach their destinations safely. We have seen a truly staggering amount of snow in our region as of late and with the weather suddenly warming slides are always a possibility. So no matter where you may be traveling in our beautiful province be sure to take your timer and stay safe!

The weather has forced the closure of several highways across Southern B.C.
A mudslide has closed part of the Coquihalla Highway between Merritt and Hope.
The mudslide occurred late Wednesday morning and is covering all four lanes with about 12 feet of mud and debris.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Jeff Knight, says geotechnical crews will be doing an assessment of the area later Wednesday afternoon.
"They will be flying over and assessing the stability of the slope to see if we can have crews go in to begin cleanup," says Knight.
He says weather is a factor and the heavy rain in the area could delay cleanup efforts.
"All we can tell people right now is that it is closed indefinitely and the alternate route is Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon."
