There was much debate and even a vote as to what to name the former "Westside", "Wetsbank" of Kelowna and as a result the name "District of West Kelowna" was approved by the voting public! The Province of B.C. and the City of Kelowna recently announced a $23.5 million partnership project to widen Highway 33 to four lanes between Muir Road and Gallagher Road.
