
The City of Kelowna's council is looking into adding two more off-leash dog parks within city limits.
After receiving the results of some successful trials and resident online feedback, council is now considering adding a space at Knox Mountain as a permanent off-leash park and a temporary off-leash space at the former KSS (Kelowna Senior Secondary) site at the corner of Harvey and Richter.
Last year the City of Kelowna had an off-leash trial at Knox Mountain and an online survey which showed 90% of respondants were in favour of keeping the park as a permanent off-leash dog park.
Council will be looking at the proposed off-leash dog parks on Monday May 31/10 as well as 11 possible new on-leash parks. Below is the list of the 11 proposed new on-leash parks across the city:

Black Mountain Recreation Corridor – 1200 Black Mountain Drive
Gerstmar Park – 955 Gerstmar Road
Birkdale Park – 363 Prestwick Street
Lund Park – 1250 Lund Road
Terrace Hill Park – 180 Terrace Hill Place
Hidden Lake Park – 1188 Long Ridge Drive
Still Pond Park – 550 Still Pond Place
Mugford Park – 425 Stetson Street
Quilchena Park – 347 Quilchena Drive
