Glenmore Bypass ready to open this week
After several years of anticipation and promise construction on the new Glenmore Bypass is nearly complete. The $11 million project began last summer and is hoped to relieve traffic and stress on a large residential segement of Glenmore Road. Starting this Wednesday, June 23 at noon the new alignment of Glenmore Road is scheduled to open to motorists and pathway users. "Snowsell Street" will become the new name of the former Glenmore Road segment stretching from Dallas to Scenic Roads.
Transportation improvements included a new four-lane roadway from Dallas to Union Roads and two lanes from Union to Scenic Roads with an off-road multi-use pathway. A new route for Bus Route #7 Glenmore and route stop changes will also take place the same day. Please visit BC Transit for more details on this route and other scheduling information.
