1. Rutland power restored after accident (December 4)
Power was knocked out to businesses and residents in the area of Highway 97 and Edwards Road after what witnesses describe as a violent three car crash late Thursday morning.
2. Man charged in Rutland double murder (December 19)
Neighbours say that the body of a young mother and two her year old son were discovered Wednesday in a home at 1065 Highway 33 West. 27-year-old Nicholas Brian Coopper is in custody and has been formally charged with two counts of second degree murder.
3. New Bennett bridge officially opens (May 25)
It was something most Okanagan residents will likely never see again in their life times. Starting 2 p.m. Sunday, nearly 10,000 people crossed the new William R. Bennett bridge in Kelowna for the first time. The bridge officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring local dignitaries, including the bridge's name sake, former Premier Bill Bennett.
4. Suspect arrested in Rutland Rapes (October 23)
Police believe that the man who terrorized women in Rutland and Kelowna for nearly five months is behind bars. Tyler Earl Stephens, 20, has been charged with nine counts of sexual assault and two counts of being masked while in the commission of a crime. He was a member of the Okanagan Sun football team.
5. Suspicious death Westside: Update (October 30)
The RCMP's forensics team is combing through a Westside home looking for evidence following the discovery of a woman's body. The body was reported to police Tuesday by a man who remains in police custody.
6. Rutland gas station operator fuming (November 20)
After 13 years of serving customers, Claude Huber finds himself on the outside looking in. Huber, 51, used to operate the Husky gas station on Highway 33 at Dougall Road in Rutland -- that is until this week when he received a bill from Autogas which recently took over 100 per cent of the lease.
7. Cliff jumping fatality (July 28)
It's almost like hitting concrete. That's how Grand Forks RCMP Staff Sergeant Jim Harrison describes the impact of a human body against water after a young Kelowna man died while cliff jumping in Christina Lake over the weekend.
8. Tree impales snowmobiler (January 29)
Jamie Needham admits it was a sight he will never forget. Needham of Kelowna and his friends had been snowmobiling in the Myra Canyon area Sunday and were headed home and came upon an unforgettable sight -- a small tree sticking through a man.

10. Avalanche body found (January 7)
A body has been recovered from an area of Big White hit by an avalanche late Sunday morning. RCMP Constable, Julie Rattee, says searchers recovered a body shortly after 3 p.m. Monday and are not in a position to confirm whether or not it is the body of the reported missing snowboarder.
