Above & Beyond

We had a deal in jeopardy of not closing because of a septic tank not being properly located.  Attempts were made by digging random holes around the yard and driving steel rods throughout the lawn in the area where we were told it was to be.  Ultimately what had to be done, on  the weekend, when no one else was around... last minute of course we had to make a decision.  Let the deal fall apart or take matters into our own hands. Here's what happened:
Ideally the septic would be easy to find with any house with a basement; however this century home had a crawl space with a 3' maximum space. Basically, Kevin, ( www.thecountyfamilyteam.com ) crawled in, found the exiting pipe from the house.  He then opened the clean-out & measured how far out from the house the pipe went.  After taking other reference points from under the house he went outside to locate the tank. With that information we located the septic tank 20 feet from where it was initially said to be.  The sale of the property went on to close.
