Why should consumers use a REALTOR® ? People should use a REALTOR® because a REALTOR® can get you the best deal in the most professional manner. Here is why we say this. REALTORS ® have access to the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®), which allows a REALTOR® to obtain up-to-the-minute market information and knowledge. A REALTOR® will provide you with their top-notch negotiation skills and will adhere to a code of ethics. Dealing with a professional will not only save you time and money but will protect your best interests, whether you’re buying or selling a home. Think of it this way – when you’re sick, you see a professional physician. So when you’re selling or buying the biggest asset in your life you should use a professional REALTOR®. The bottom line is this. If you want the best price and a true professional working for you – choose a REALTOR®. How can we justify our commission? We will justify our commission by selling your home for the best possible price in the shortest possible period of time and we’ll do that in a smooth, stress-free fashion. Let us explain. We will earn our commission by listing your home on the MLS® system. This will allow us to highlight your property’s benefits to more than other REALTORS® in the Quinte/Prince Edward trading area, and to 43,000 realtors across Ontario. We will ensure your property is on “mls.ca”, which is a REALTOR® website that receives over 200 million hits per month. All this would be in addition to our personal “success-through-service” marketing program which is a comprehensive strategy based on our 39 years of combined experience selling homes. The bottom line is that we have a strong track record of earning our commission by getting our clients the best possible results in the shortest possible time in a smooth, stress-free manner. Is the real estate market finally bursting? What we believe you’re asking is – are we about to see a sudden drop in real estate values? The answer is that at some point the market will cool down, however, there’s no indication that’s about to happen in the near future. Let us explain. Real estate markets tend to cool down when the housing costs cease to become affordable for the majority of buyers. With interest rates at their current levels of 6% or less and with CMHC projections indicating no significant increase in the near future, even as housing prices increase it’s not likely that monthly housing costs will vary appreciably. If we look back to the last “hot housing market” in the early 90’s, interest rates were running at 12% or higher. Let me stress. So as long as the monthly mortgage payment of the average buyer remains affordable, we don’t need to be concerned about a sudden cooling of the market. Bottom Line. OREA’s Quality of Life principles are good for REALTORS® and good for Ontarians.
