What's so great about Ambleside? And Why I Choose to Live and Work in this Community.

In Ambleside; Every Stoop Has A Story

Ambleside is an incredibly central community, taking into account it is considered a SouthWest Edmonton Community. Bounded by Anthony Henday Drive, Ellerslie Road, 170 St/ Terwillegar Drive and 141st;  it's pretty much 25 minutes from everything!

The neighbourhood has a variety of single family and multi-family residential housing. Low density housing (single and semi-detached) accounts for approximately 55 percent of all residential buildings, medium-density housing (row and low-rise) for 30 percent, and 15 percent is high-density housing (medium-and high-rise).

Throughout the neighbourhood are fantastic wandering walkways and a promenade framed by trees; an open invitation to hit the road and soak up a little sunshine. Whether you walk, jog, bike or blade, the walkways will treat you to the sights and sounds of a true natural area; ponds, small parks and playgrounds. With plans of a school, playground and sports fields, Ambleside will only pack more punch for those who love the outdoors.

The shopping at the Currents of Windermere expands daily, and includes shopping, casual and fine dining, entertainment and services. You don't have to go very far to find what you need. The Currents Shopping Complex is growing every day, with a Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Drugs and Safeway currently. Almost every bank is represented, as well as the Cineplex Odeon Theater, and many restaurant options from Fast Food to Fine Dining. Theres' nothing the Currents doesn't have.

The people of Ambleside are everything you would expect in a small town community. Neighbours share their Garden Harvests in the fall, you know which family on your street hosts the big Canada Day BBQ. You truly have the ability to get to know the people who live around you. Just like you used to do back in the day; before crime and big city mentality made people lock their doors, and keep their kids inside. It's a place where you hear kids giggling in the back yard while mom tends to the garden and dad tends to the grill. It's a community where you hear more laughter, and see more smiles and waves than anything else. It's a community that allows you to grow with it. A community that will welcome you and your family with open arms.
